Purchase and activation require an internet connection. After activation, LokalSkribe works offline for up to 30 days. A brief licence check is performed every 30 days — transcription always runs locally on your machine.

For optimal speed, we recommend an NVIDIA GPU (RTX 3060 or better). The software also runs on CPU, though somewhat slower. Minimum requirements: Windows 10/11, 8 GB RAM, 5 GB free disk space.

No audio or text content is transmitted to external servers during transcription. All AI processing runs locally on your hardware. External services are only used for purchase, licensing, and email delivery.

The licence is a single-device licence. If you change devices, our support team at [email protected] will help you transfer it to your new PC — without purchasing a second licence.

Yes! You can record your screen and then transcribe the recording with LokalSkribe. This works great for tutorials, presentations, or webinars.

Download the setup EXE, run it and follow the installation wizard. No internet connection is required after the download.

For digital content, the right of withdrawal can only expire early if (1) you expressly consent that we begin execution before the withdrawal period ends, (2) you acknowledge your awareness that you lose the right of withdrawal, and (3) we provide you with a contract confirmation pursuant to § 312f BGB — all three conditions cumulatively (§ 356(5) BGB). LokalSkribe runs the transcription locally on your device; audio and transcripts do not leave your device during local processing. No Article 28 GDPR data processor relationship with a cloud provider is therefore required for the transcription. Only a brief internet connection is needed for licence verification.

Speaker recognition (diarization) is included in all paid tiers (Student, Standard, Team, Office, Professional). The free trial version does not include it. The tiers differ primarily by number of seats (Standard 1 PC, Team 1–3 users, Office 4–10 users) and billing model (annual subscription or one-time Professional purchase).
